About The Hosts
Hello, my name is Deborah. My husband Lamont and I live in our home together, and we've been married for 4 years. We both have friendly and outgoing personalities. My husband is originally from Salt Lake City,Utah, and I was born and grew up here in Los Angeles. I also went to college in Los Angeles at USC where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering. I just love my city of L.A.. Since I've lived here all my life I know a great deal about Los Angeles, and I enjoy meeting visitors and helping them have a real authentic L.A. experience.
One of the great things my husband and I share in common is that we both love to travel and meet people from all over the world. That's one of the reasons why we started hosting vacationers. We have traveled to many parts of the USA, and internationally to Spain, Italy, France, Greece, Turkey, the Carribbean Islands, Mexico, Costa Rica, Kenya, South Africa, London, and Canada. Most recently we just returned from Thailand and China. When we travel, we love to learn about different cultures, we try and have a local experience, taste the native cuisine, and we love outdoor adventure activities. Sometimes we travel with just the two of us and explore independently on our own, and other times we go on group tours.
Here in Los Angeles we benefit from having such good weather year round that we love outdoor activities like bike riding at the beach, going to outdoor concerts, attending plays and musicals and hosting friends and family at our house and having an outdoor bar-b-cue. I'm a self-confessed foodie, so I love trying new restaurants as well. My husband also loves bowling, golf, watching movies and reading.
We've traveled so much that we know that sometimes you just want to relax quietly, and other times you want to see a lot and do a lot. Lamont and I are the same way when we travel, so we make sure that our home and our style of hosting is comfortable to suit your preference. We both work from home so we're available daily to give you any ideas, tips or suggestions about the city and to help you get around to see the city. We also welcome you to join us for friendly conversation. We also respect your desire to have privacy and quiet.
Whatever your preference, we just want you to have a great time in our lovely city.
