The Coast
In the centre of the Basque Coastline, with a great tourist tradition, Deba represents the traditional tourist resort in the most positive sense: "Escape from overcrowding, in search of peace and quiet".
he coast offers its sandy beaches where, apart from sunbathing and enjoying the sea, you may also practise sports such as canoeing, surf or windsurf.
If you are looking for peace and quiet, you should visit the inlets of Mendata, Aitzuri or Sakoneta (an area declared a biotope due to its natural and geological value). Crustaceans and native fish can be found in these rocky areas. They are ideal areas for fishing or diving

Deba Beach
Its location, at the end of the inlet, makes it a calm and safe beach.

Deba Beach, known as Santiago Beach, is one of the most visited beaches on the Basque Coast. Its geographical features, have made it an attraction for all those who are looking for a relaxing moment near the sea.
Activities

A wide range of activities to satisfy everyone

Everything can be found at Deba: hiking, MBT, visits to farms, excursions on horseback, delta wing and paragliding, guided tours to mills, amateur bullfights, manufacture of products (cheese, cider, jam, pacharan, honey...), visits to the cider museum and interpretation centre, pot-holing, canoeing...

CANOEING AND SURF
The magnificent features of Deba Beach, offer the possibility of practising this type of sport. The Deba Zurrunbilo surf association, in co-operation with the Municipal Sports Centre, offer a wide range of courses.

HIKING AND MOUNTAIN BIKES
Time stops when confronted with the beauty of the areas one can discover hiking along the many routes around Deba.
Due to the features of its orography and size, Deba offers many routes: Santa Catalina, Itxaspe, Elorriaga, Mendata and Sakoneta with wonderful views of the sea and, of course, Lastur, where you may witness the traditional preparation of cheese and cloth, ancient mills... and all this surrounded by a wonderful environment of mountains, forests and small valleys.

The Txerturi Goikoa farmhouse in the neighbourhood of Itxaspe offers a Mountain Bike rental service .
POT-HOLING

Venture into the depths and discover the magic world of darkness; a dream that can come true at Deba.
Leizarpe Espeleologia Taldea as well as the Arruan Haundi farmhouse and the company Debaventura (Tel. 943 120 543) offer excursions, with guides, to caves in the Izarraitz Mountains.
