Our apartment is situated on a superb complex that is nestled between the hills of the Calblanque nature park and the coast of the Mar Menor sea.
Calida, Spain.

Just a 2 minute walk to a very sandy beach. Ideal for families.

Sleeping 4/6 with 2 bedrooms, our modern air-conditioned apartment, with large balcony has beautiful views over the sea and onto the La Manga Strip beyond. It also has a shared roof terrace for a spot of extreme sunbathing or more expansive views!

Set on a very smart complex it has indoor and outdoor pools, gym, sauna, jacuzzi and children's play area.

The complex is located close to three 18-hole championship golf courses.

Private complex with secured parking and video entry system.

Well equipped, air-conditioned and l located on the 5th floor with lift access. Suitable for wheelchair users.

The complex is placed in the quiet town of Playa Honda, close to the sandy beach. The shallow warm waters make it ideal for water sports and families. The Mar Menor offers safe swimming waters and warm beaches year round.

Local supermarket, pharmacy, beach bar and restaurants are within walking distance. The property, just a few minutes drive or a very scenic cycle ride away from the beautiful Calblanque National Park which borders the Mediterranean Sea and close to the coastal market town of Cabo de Palos and Los Belones.

Kitchen: Fully equipped kitchen includes cooker, ceramic hob, fridge, freezer, washing machine, microwave, kettle and toaster. Iron and ironing board. Portable bar table with 2 barstools. Picnic set.
Utility Room: Clothes airer and outside wash basin.
Living Rooms: Spacious air-conditioned living room with table, chairs, large sofabed and side unit with Satellite TV, DVD player. Separate from the kitchen but can be fully opened up. Lounge leads onto large balcony/terrace with pretty views. Books and games provided.
Other: Spacious balcony/terrace with sea and swimming pool views. 2 sets of patio table and chairs. 2 sun loungers for your enjoyment.

Towels and all linen are provided for your use. Cleaned for your arrival and on departure.

Accessibility
This apartment is wheelchair friendly and guests can access without the need to use stairs. Lift access to apartment and roof top terrace. Ramps in garage and outside complex.

Outside
The complex is set in pretty landscaped gardens and the facilities include 1 large feature outside communal pool, 1 heated inside communal pool, 1 small outside children's pool. There is also a jacuzzi, sauna, gymnasium, children’s play area and underground parking. The complex is set in a very safe environment with its own security gates. There is also a video entry system to the apartment.

The apartment has its own large balcony/terrace but also has access to one of the shared roof terraces. Patio furniture and 2 sun loungers are provided for guests use. There is plenty of space to dine whilst enjoying the balmy summer evenings or watch the sunrise over the Mar Menor sea whilst enjoying breakfast.

Coast/Beach
The local long sandy beach is just a 2 minutes walk away. Water temperatures of 35c and shallow waters make this an ideal location for families with young children and for water skiing, sailing, diving wind surfing and boat trips etc.

Along the shores of the Mar Menor are miles and miles of blue flag golden sandy beaches. A short drive or a very pleasant cycle ride takes you to the sandy coves of the Mediterranean and the beautiful area of the Calblanque National Park. The white sandy beaches and sea here are more rugged.

Golf is in abundance including the world famous La Manga golf resort, with its championship courses and sports and spa centre. This is just a few minutes away. Besides the famous La Manga golf and spa complex, there are many other golf courses in the area.

Travel
Nearest airport San Javier (Murcia) ~ 20-25 mins drive. Alicante airport is around 1 hour drive.

Transfers can be arranged. Car hire is not essential but is recommended. The area is very popular with cyclists.

The nearest bus station is at Playa Honda itself and about 0.5km from the apartment. The nearest railway station is at los Nietos, about 7km from the apartment. Good taxi services are nearby too.

Distances
Local supermarket, bars, beach bar, cafes, restaurants, tennis courts and children's playgrounds are within 2 mins walk of apartment.

La Manga Strip approx 3km away. La Manga Golf Resort, just a few mins by car. Costal villages of Cabo de Palos and Los Belones are about 3km with good restaurants and very interesting market.
Torrevieja is a 30 min drive away. The historic cities of Cartagena 24kms and Murcia 70km away.

Water Parks, theme parks and safaris are within driving distance.

Further details
The village of Playa Honda has a small supermarket, bakery, pharmacy and restaurants, all walking distance. There are many other bars, restaurants, local shops, markets and supermarkets only a short drive away.

Or take a stroll to some unique restaurants. Night life can be found along the La Manga strip, with its many bars, restaurants, banks and interesting shops. It's about a 10 min taxi ride but you can walk via the beaches.

Sailing and other water sports are nearby. The Mar Menor sea is particularly good for this because of its serenity and clean water.

Club Vela International Sailing School run by Noel, has been recommended - located at the far end of the strip. For scuba diving, there are some rocky points that appear above sea level, a short distance from Cabo de Palos. This has created a marine reserve. Eels and octopuses as well as sunken vessels appear at a depth of 30 m. A diving school is located at Cabo de Palos, which can be found at the beginning of the La Manga strip.

Horse Riding is located near to La Manga golf. You can venture on a 13km journey across terraced fields, over rocks and through the natural beaches of Calblanque or the coves of Cabo Negrete. Bikes can be hired locally. Cycle round the Mar Menor, close to the water to see the beautiful coastline.

Walkers can take the many trails through the Sierre Minera (Mining Hills) or climb to the Cabezo de la Fuente, an exceptional look out point of 342 metres.

Boat Trips are available from the port of Thomas Meastro, which is located approx. 14km up the strip.

La Manga has its own go-karting course, a large professional complex, next to Tamoil petrol station, in front of the exit to Cabo de Palos from the motorway.

Historical interest is the Cathedral de Santa Maria and the archaeological ruins and theatres of Cartagena.

Further afield, Rio Safari park at Elche, Aqualandia Water Park, Terra Mitica Theme Park, Mundomar Marine and Exotic Animal Park.

Booking notes
Sorry now for the boring bit - To confirm your booking a deposit of 100.00 euros or £65 is required for each week required. The remaining balance should be paid in full six weeks prior to arrival. Check in time is after 16.00. A credit card swipe or a cash deposit of 250 euros will be taken when you check in to cover possible damages etc. Cash deposits will be returned in the form of a cheque within 14 business days. Checking out by 10.00am. Extras can be hired eg. cots and highchairs.
