Meze is a 15th century small fishing village in the South of France. The village has two beaches either side of the port. The port itself is flanked with numerous restaurants – generally specialising in seafood. There is a market on Thursday and Sunday mornings. Plenty of local commerce plus two super-markets within walking distance.

In close proximity there are village markets galore, mainly a mixture of clothing, craftwork and … most of all - you will be spoilt for choice at the huge selection of fresh food. The cheese stalls in particular have such a variety. Also, being on the Mediterranean - fresh fish, oysters and mussels are in abundance.

As Spain is only 2 hours drive it is well worth a visit – travelling along the coast road the views are magnificent. Venturing further into Spain – Barcelona is a city not to be missed.

If you want to absorb the history of France there are countless places to visit. Conversely do you just want to just totally relax on the beach? – well this is just 50 metres from the apartment!

Our apartment is located in a secure, purpose built block with communal entrance, stairs (no elevator). To the front is a small balcony and a rear walkway overlooking the village chapel. On entry there is a hallway with a drawer unit. To the right is the separate sizeable kitchen. This room is fully equipped with crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils etc. plus a fridge/freezer; microwave/grill; 2 electric hobs, kettle, coffee machine. Small wall mounted drop leaf table.

Next on the right from the hallway – is a shower room/wc incorporating a bathroom cabinet, another wall cabinet; storage shelves and a washing machine, airer, pegs, iron & ironing board.

Finally, the main room which functions as a living room/bedroom double bed and a sofa bed together with a fold up ‘privacy screen’ in case 4 adults share. We have a TV/video player; CD player/radio. Plenty of books and videos both in English and French - including those for children.

We would also consider long term rentals out of the main holiday season i.e. between September and May. For winter months we have electric central heating.

International flights to Paris or Montpellier. Hire a car at Paris or take the high speed train (TGV) from Paris to Montpellier (4½ hrs) & pick up a car there.
