Large period home located in the main square of Le Dorat in the Limousin area of France. Great location with lots to do in the town and immediate surrounding area. Less than one hour drive from Limoges international airport which is a Ryan Air hub and easily accessed from many UK airports at cheap rates. 1½ hours drive to the west coast town of La Rochelle, 2½ to Bordeaux and 2 hours by train to Paris. There is a market in the square most days of the week and every Thursday there is a barbeque/music evening in the adjoining square where local farmers and wine makers sell and cook their produce to the sound of local musicians. There are several good restaurants and cafes in the town and all are just a short walk away. The infamous town of Oradour-sur-Glane is just 40mins drive away. This was the scene of one of WWII worst massacres when more than 600 local inhabitants were murdered by the SS. The original village has been maintained unchanged as a memorial and is a must-see.
