16th century watermill in the Basque country, near Biarritz, South West France. The 4 bedroom mill, dating from 1550, is situated in wonderfully peaceful countryside, yet only 30 minutes from the sea. The mill has 3 double bedrooms and 1 twin bedroom sleeping up to 8 people. There is also a baby cot available. There is a large living/dining room with open fireplace and newly fitted kitchen and bathroom. There is also a downstairs shower room/wc with washing machine/dryer. The living room leads out onto the large terrace, perfect for al fresco dining and aperitifs. The river flows below the terrace and around the island garden.
The mill is situated just outside the village of La Bastide Clairence, voted one of the most beautiful villages in France. Nearby are the towns of Bayonne, Pau, St. Jean Pied de Port, Biarritz, St. Jean de Luz and across the Spanish border, San Sebastian and Bilbao which houses the Guggenheim museum.
