This lovely holiday apartment is in the charming old town of Beaucaire, gateway to Provence and Languedoc in the south of France. Its large private terrace faces the River Rhône, with a view of the castle of Tarascon in Provence, just across the river. The handsome stone building was originally a rich merchant's mansion, named Hôtel du Luxembourg.
Recently renovated and decorated with original art work, the apartment is quiet and sunny with 5 m (16 ft) high ceilings. It consists of three bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen/dining room with seating for seven fully equipped with crockery, pots and pans etc, plus a bathroom and separate toilet. The spacious terrace, set out with potted plants, has a table and chairs for eight, shaded by two umbrellas. A great place to relax! Amenities include a home office with unlimited Internet access, washing machine, microwave, dishwasher, TV, VCR, DVD and stereo. Sheets and towels are provided. Two of the bedrooms have double beds and the third has two single beds. There is also a fold-out couch in the living room. The apartment is within walking distance of all Beaucaire’s attractions. Stroll along the river dike towards Beaucaire’s picturesque ruined castle, or enjoy a meal or a petit café in the cafes and restaurants in the picturesque old square just around the corner. Walk through narrow 17th century streets to the lively canal promenade and the open-air markets and shops. Situated in the center of the “Golden Triangle” of Nîmes, Avignon and Arles, the ancient town of Beaucaire (From "Bel Caire" - Beautiful Stone in Provençal) provides the perfect base for exploring Provence and the Camargue. Nearby attractions include Roman amphitheaters, castles, medieval villages, Van Gogh landscapes, open-air markets, horse-riding, wine-tasting and boating. Enjoy the splendors of Provence and the Languedoc combined with the comforts of home! |
