UNIQUE OLYMPIC ACCOMMODATION IN CENTRAL VANCOUVER

Depending on your needs, our cozy Vancouver home can be set up in 3 different arrangements for the 2010 Winter Games: a 3 Bdr House, OR a Basement Suite, OR a B&B Room / combination of rooms. All 3 options are within the same home, but each accommodates a different number of guests.

The house is in a fabulous central location (Cambie St & 21st Ave). Only a stone's throw from Olympic curling venue. 5 minute walk to subway with 6 minute ride to Opening & Closing Ceremonies and direct line to airport. Easy walking distance to large variety of shops, cafes, restaurants, subway, and many bus routes.

Easy public transit access to all Vancouver events: Olympic Center-1km, GM Place-3km (Opening and Closing Ceremonies), Pacific Coliseum-5km, UBC Winter Sports Centre-10km, Richmond Oval-8km, Cypress Mountain-10km (all distances are approximate).

Three accommodation options available during February 2010 (half price rates during January and/or March):
1. A fabulously renovated 3 bdr house on 2 levels (sleeps 9 or possibly 10).
2. A self contained 1 bdr basement suite (sleeps 2-4)
3. A room, or a combination of rooms, in the main part of the house in a B&B situation (3 rooms available).
See details below for each of these options.
Note that what is available will be determined by the bookings we get (ie, if we get a booking for the whole house, then the B&B option and the basement suite option will no longer be available).

OPTION #1: THE WHOLE HOUSE

The house is a beautiful 1930s home meticulously renovated from top to bottom in the westcoast craftsman style: hardwood floors throughout with slate tiles on the stairs, granite countertops, gourmet kitchen, double pane windows, original doors and extra deep baseboards and window/door frames, wood burning fireplace with plenty of wood available.

There are 3 bedrooms on the second floor:
Master Bedroom - brown room in photo
- sleeps 3 in a queen size sleigh bed + a single bed.
- newly installed leather plank flooring
- has an ensuite bathroom with large shower, heated tile floor, granite countertop, and 2 skylights (one in shower and one in sink area). Walk in closet.
Yellow/Blue Bedroom - sleeps 2 in a queen size bed. Large mirrored sliding door closet.
Sand Colored Bedroom - sleeps 2 in two high quality single size air beds. Mirrored sliding door closet.
A full bathroom in the second floor hallway, also with heated tile floor.

The main floor of the house has a living room, dining room, kitchen, den, 2 piece bathroom, and family room. The family room is open to the kitchen but can be set up to sleep 2 more in two additional high quality single size air beds. If one more sleeping space is needed, the sofa is very workable as well.

Laundry facilities. Wireless internet. Cable TV. Free street parking as available.

My husband and I and our 2 dogs would be living in the basement suite. As such we will be available for on site management. We will come upstairs once a week to launder and replace towels and bedding.

Rent for the house is $22,400 for the whole month of February. Any additional days in January are for $400 a night. 3 or more additional days in March are also for $400 a night.

25% deposit + signed Rental Agreement to secure a booking. The remainder due on Dec 31 along with a $2000 security deposit. The security deposit will be refunded within 2 weeks of departure provided that the premises is left in the condition in which it was found.

OPTION #2: SELF CONTAINED 1 BEDROOM BASEMENT SUITE

This second option is for a 1 bedroom self-contained, separate entrance apartment in the basement of the house.

It is fabulously renovated, similar to the design of the rest of the westcoast craftsman style house. Hardwood floor. Full size fridge, dishwasher, and gas oven/stove. All windows have deep ledges and are large enough to let in a lot of light. This is not your typical basement unit!

In the photo of the front of the house, the 2 windows at the bottom on either side of the front steps belong to this unit. There is no space on this site for additional photos. Photos of this suite are available upon request.

The bedroom has two high quality single size air beds or one queen size high quality air bed, depending on booking needs. There is large closet with sliding mirrored doors. There is plenty of space in the living room for sleeping space for another 2 people if you wish to bring your own sleeping arrangement and bedding.

On site management as my husband and I will be living upstairs in the main part of the house where we will be running a B&B during the Olympics.

This self contained suite is available for $8400 for the whole month of February. Any additional days in January are for $150 a night. 8 or more additional days in March are also for $150 a night.

25% deposit + signed Rental Agreement to secure a booking. The remainder due on Dec 31 along with a $1000 security deposit. The security deposit will be refunded within 2 weeks of departure provided that the premises is left in the condition in which it was found.


OPTION #3: A B&B ROOM, OR COMBINATION OF ROOMS

3 bedrooms on 2nd floor can be booked separately or in any combination.

Room #1 (occupancy not to exceed 3):
Master bedroom with queen bed + single bed (brown room in photo).
Ensuite bathroom with large shower, granite countertop, heated tile floor, and 2 skylights (one in shower and one in sink area). Walk in closet.
$7000 for the month of February. Any additional days in January and/or March are for $125 a night.

Room #2 (occupancy not to exceed 2):
Queen bed (yellow/blue room in photo). Large closet with mirrored sliding doors. Shared hallway bathroom.
$4200 for the month of February. Any additional days in January and/or March are for $75 a night.

Room #3 (occupancy not to exceed 2):
Two high quality single size air beds (sand coloured room in photo). Closet with mirrored sliding doors. Shared hallway bathroom.
$4200 for the month of February. Any additional days in January and/or March are for $75 a night.

The main floor of the house has a spacious and fantastically decorated living room, dining room and kitchen: gourmet kitchen, granite countertops, hardwood floors throughout, slate tile on the stairs, wood burning fireplace. My husband and I and our 2 dogs will be sleeping in the family room off the kitchen on the main floor. All other rooms on the main floor would be common space shared with us as well as the other renters.

Delicious continental breakfast served each morning between 6 AM and 8 AM.

The remainder due on Dec 31, 2009 along with a $300 per room security deposit. The security deposit will be refunded within 2 weeks of departure provided that the premises is left in the condition in which it was found.
