Each day that you spend in this more than a 100 year old wooden mansion, situated on the banks of the holy river Pamba, you will feel the serenity, peace and joy, which has been long lost to the frenetic pace of the times that we live in. This is the golden opportunity to experience closeness with Nature. Soak the sun, soothe your eyes and get ready for the amazing Kerala hospitality and a few days of complete bliss and peace, punctuated only, by a bird’s call and a cricket’s hum. Nature is our trendsetter and back to nature is our motto The antique wooden structures ‘Ara’ and ‘Nilavara’ which were originally used for storing grains have been restored for modern living as per the principles of ‘Vaastu Sastra’ [The Indian Architectural Principles]. The restoration doesn’t tamper with all the 100 years of history that it carries within its wooden walls. Our ‘Ara’ - converted guest rooms are beautifully furnished and the solid wooden doors facing the river are no barriers in experiencing an exotic home-stay holiday, spiced up with typical Kerala hospitality This is the home away from home, which is sandwiched between the silver cascading Pamba River on the western side, and emerald carpeted paddy fields on the eastern side. At Pamba heritage everything is traditional except for the ultra modern attached toilets and bathrooms. Enjoy the novel experience of bathing in the open. The way and pace of life at the villa is decided entirely by you – laze in a hammock with a book, take moonlit walks along the river side, or simply immerse yourself in the water and feel the gentle ripples against your skin. For the more active amongst you – get an insight into the Kerala way of life – see the traditional paddy harvesting, go on a fishing trip and interact with the local fishermen, watch toddy (it is the fermented sap of the coconut tree) tapping, or simply stroll around the plantain and coconut groves, local landmarks, temples and markets. Ayurveda and Kerala are synonymous – on special requests, get a relaxing massage. All around, you will see- country boats ferrying coconut or paddy. Watch the huge nets being thrown into the waters with amazing grace and dexterity against a rising sun, agile men making a breathtaking climb to collect toddy from coconut trees. Along with soothing your mind and body, delight your palate with authentic home- cooked Kerala cuisine – delicious meals using local fish and spices, chicken and duck, mouth-watering vegetarian dishes and specialties of the region. Try our Karimeen (pearl-spot fish) fry, fish molee, Neimeen (Seer fish) Curry and Appam with Egg Roast.
