Our country cottage home is sunny, clean and simple, and all on one floor. It was completely renovated in 2010. The master bedroom has an en suite bathroom and walk-in closet. There is a second bedroom, a study, and a second bathroom. The kitchen has a refrigerator and a new ceramic top stove, dishwasher, microwave and toaster oven. There The livingroom has a flat screen TV and a sunny deck just outside. There is a high-efficiency washer and dryer. There are no pets, so the house will be kind to anyone with allergies.

The house is situated on a quiet country road. The town center, Springfield, Vermont, (eight minutes away by car) has a grocery store, restaurants, organic food coop, an art gallery, and other stores. Our car is available.

This is a great location for seeing the autumn colors in New England!

For skiers, our house is within 30 minutes drive of Okemo Mountain, and under an hour to Stratton, just over hour to Killington, and other ski areas. There are scenic roads to walk in our neighborhood. There is a 3 mile paved walking trail following the river out of Springfield as it heads to the Connecticut River nearby. There are many hiking trails in Vermont, including the Long Trail, also known as the Appalachian Trail, which is an hour away.

There are many quaint New England villages in the surrounding area with antique shops historic houses, taverns, restaurants, a premier chocolate shop, a teddy bear shop and much more. Larger New Hampshire towns Hanover--the home of Dartmouth College and many cultural activities--and Keene, a charming small city with two theaters, a fine art gallery at the college and all the basics for shopping, are each less than an hour away. Concord, the state capital of New Hampshire is 50 minutes away. Montpelier, Vermont, the Vermont state capital is 1 1/2 hours away.

Our house is available in late summer or fall for seeing the autumn colors, or for skiing in the winter. We would be available to pick you up from an airport in Manchester NH, Boston MA, or Hartford CT. We would do our best to give you a good introduction to our area and provide whatever information we can--and be helpful if needed.
