A Walkthrough of the House: Off the entrance hallway is the formal parlor. Here, enjoy a drink at the bar or relax by the fire. Just beyond is a spacious living room and downstairs sunroom, where you can watch the visiting hummingbirds outside. Spread out in this room next to the woodstove. Next is the large kitchen with attached butler’s pantry. There is plenty of space here for baking and cooking. We rarely can pass by a kitchen supply store without stopping in, so you can help yourself to all sorts of cooking gadgets, including a bread maker and Vita-mixer. Eat either in the kitchen or the more formal dining room. There is a laundry room with washer and dryer just off the kitchen and a full bathroom (with claw foot tub) is downstairs as well.
Upstairs are four bedrooms, though one bedroom is used as an office and another as a playroom. The master bedroom offers a queen sized four poster bed and an attached sunroom overlooking the yard and pond. The “Redwood Room” has a king sized platform bed; this room is paneled entirely in redwood for a very comforting feel. The play room can always be rearranged for a third bedroom with a comfy double sized futon. A large shower is in the upstairs bathroom.
Outside, there is a bench next to the small pond with its lily pads and fish. Vegetable and herb gardens are “in progress”, so depending on their development you may be able to make use of them. The yard is landscaped with many, many flowers, including fuschias and roses, so there is usually something blooming. Depending on the season, there may be dragonflies or butterflies about; there are always hummingbirds.
