The home is a two bedroom chalet with an open floor plan, pine plank floors, and spiral staircase. This home looks like something out of a fairy tale and has been called "Snow White's cottage" by friends. It has many unique details and is surrounded by Florida pine and azalea flowers. The former owner built a wheelchair ramp for his son to the front entrance. There is a downstairs bathroom with a Victorian clawfoot tub. The upstairs bathroom is under construction, but has a working toilet. There is an air conditioner/heater both upstairs and down.

There is an outdoor shower that you will love, next to a screened in patio off of the main bedroom. There is a queen bed in this room. The second bedroom is upstairs and has a double bed and a balcony that overlooks the woods behind the house. The third bedroom is used as an office. The house comfortably suits 4, and there is a couch if there is a 5th person in your group. The kitchen is small and has a glass top stove with 2 burners, and a convection oven. You can easily prepare meals, but it's by no means a gourmet kitchen.

The springs shown in the photos are 3 miles (4.8 km) from the house and the Rainbow River is one of the most breathtaking places to visit. Regardless of how deep the water is, you can see clear to the bottom and see the fish and turtles swimming next to the boat. It's the bluest water I've seen anywhere. You can kayak on the river, walk down the trails to see beautiful waterfalls and flowers, or intertube down the river. There is a biking trail a few miles away that extends for 46 miles. There are also 2 golf courses in town. One is very close to the park and springs...only a few km away.

The house is not far from many Florida attractions. Homosassa State Park is where you can see manatees and other animals, and Silver Springs has glass bottom boat rides as well as a summer concert selection, and you can dive with the manatees in Crystal River. These are all around 30 minutes away.

The house is 1 1/2 hours away from Orlando, 2 hours from Daytona, and there are many other beautiful beaches within these distances as well. If you are interested in fishing, this side of the coast is known as "the nature coast" as the sand bars extend for a few miles into the ocean, providing for a unique fishing experience. The east coast of Florida has excursions to take you deep sea fishing.

Pennsylvania Avenue has antique shops, and some specialty stores and there are some great restaurants there, and in Ocala, which is 25 minutes away. The local restaurants also have live music and outdoor seating. Ocala is famous for raising thoroughbred horses. Gainesville is 35 minutes away and hosts the University of Florida, as well as the Salvadore Dali Museum. It has shopping and restaurants as well.

There are not many train systems in this country, unfortunately, and not much public transportation in Florida. You can rent a car in Orlando or Tampa at the airport, as that would be most convenient to visit this state.
