Our charming Vermont home is a former farmhouse with wide pine floors, woodstove, 3 bedrooms, located on a 5-acre field at one end of the cozy village of Cabot, population 1200, in the rural corner of Vermont known as the Northeast Kingdom. The area is home to farmers, artists, environmentalists, and the famously independent-minded and practical Vermont personality. Local (free) cross-country ski trails abound within minutes of our front door, and down hill skiing at some of the less crowded mountains are a short drive away. Other nearby attractions include: Cabot Creamery, where the delicious cheddar cheese is made; the picturesque state capital Montpelier; the granite quarries of Barre; and Karme Choling, the Buddhist monastery. Boston and Montreal are both about 3 hours away.
