Enchanting two-bedroom cottage located in a private and historical park amidst century old oak trees in Southeast Ohio. Epworth Park is the home of Chautauqua Institution of western New York founded in the 1860's as an assembly site for training church workers. Today it is the vacation spot of visitors from all over the United States who cherish the peace and quiet of 18 acres of tree lined private property with its small living lake, outdoor amphitheater, community hall and 60 in dividually owned cottages. The Park is an added attraction to the little hamlet of Bethesda, with its population of only 1413 which co-hosts Chautauqua Homecoming each hear in July with arts and crafts displays, white elephant sale, wagon train guest performeers in the amphiteater, parade, cottage tours and much more. This is the getaway everybody needs to escape the pressures and perils of city life.
The Cottage has two full bedrooms. One full sized bed in one bedroom and a convertible futon in the other. The bedrooms and bath are on the upper floor with a screened-in terrace. The garden is very small, low maintenance. The Park neighbors are friendly senior citizens. Many come to their cottage only on weekends while others come to the park from April to November. This is a good base from which you may drive to other US cities. For instance, Washington DC (or New York city) is approximately 500 miles. |
