Fine cultural holiday on beautiful lake side with agreeable climate..
About our house: We are offering our lake side summer house in Iznik Turkey for exchange with a corresponding family. It's a small villa in a big compound with security and many more services. Basement includes living room with opening to a shaded garden terrace and kitchen, and a small bedroom. First floor includes main double bedroom with A/C, toilet with shower and an open room with additional bed. Beautiful gardens in front and back. Connected villas at sides. Civilized neighbors. Usual household items and 2 bikes in good condition are available. About the compound: “Darka Evleri” is one of the renowned holiday compounds of Turkey with a huge lake side front. The climate is always sunny but not so hot like in southern Turkey. Turks and several foreigners are living there. Sandy beach with jetty and raft, suitable for seniors and children too. Controlled blue flag water quality. Beautiful garden area with big trees and plenty of flowers, many roses. Market with house service. Several sport facilities. About the environment: Iznik is a remarkably well preserved historical city, early Byzantine and Ottoman capital and a pilgrimage site for Christianity (2nd council of Roman emperor Constantin). Charming setting, almost intact huge antic walls, early mosques and churches, impressing museum, weekly market of surrounding agricultural area, classic Turkish kitchen in authentic restaurants. About connections: Arrival and departure from one of the Istanbul airports in European or Asian side of the city. Frequent fast ferry connections from both sides to port of Yalova (ca. 1 hr), and road connection from there to Iznik by small bus (65 km ca. 1 hr.). For visiting historical big city of Bursa, famous natural Roman and Turkish health baths and lots of sightseeing, by small bus 1 hr from Iznik. For visiting antic Ephesus or Troy, night bus connections from Bursa (250 to 300 km each). |
