My flat
16th floor. North facing. Panoramic views of Cape Town harbour. Devil’s Peak, The Green Point stadium where the soccer world cup took place, Robin Island, The Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, The Cape Town Convention Centre, Table view and even the Stellenbosch mountains can be seen from my balcony. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a spacious living, dining and kitchen area. Fully equipped kitchen. Flat screen TV. DVD. Air-conditioning. Microwave. Internet. Balcony. Washer. Fridge. Radio. Elevator x3. Modern and brand new furniture. Internet included. The building The Icon building is a landmark in the CBD of Cape Town. The famous Food Lover’s Market is on the ground floor as well as a beauty salon and VidaE cafe. The building also has a fully equipped gym and large swimming pool and tanning area available to residents and guests of the hotel. I have two parking bays in the basement accessed through a boom that has 24 hr security. The concierge service at reception is available to residents. The area The entrance is on Lower Long Street, down the road from the cultural hub and vibrant nightlife that Long Street has to offer. The building is two blocks up from the Cape Town International Convention Centre. It is two minutes from access to the N1 and N2 highways and two minutes from the ocean. The area is clean and safe. There is a virgin active gym across the road. It is close to all that is Cape Town because it is right in the centre. Cheap public transport is literally always at the door. Cape Town Without sounding too much like a tourist brochure, this is one of the best, most beautiful, culturally rich and diverse, fun and vibrant cities in the world. Hike at Kirstenbosch, swim at Clifton, drive around Chapman’s peak, go wine-tasting at Stellenbosch or Durbanville, surf at Llandudno, go kite surfing at Table View, indulge in Cape Malay cuisine et al, go to the theatre or the opera or the ballet or to music gigs or art exhibitions, go clubbing. The list is literally endless and you need a lifetime to discover all that this city has to offer. Weather is always mild and as my flat is north facing it compensates for any temperature. |
