Exchange Zones

Our house is a family home that stretches over two floors and has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, a big living room with an excellent view, TV/gaming lounge, and a modern kitchen. It is located in a calm neighborhood within walking distance from the centre of the northern Norwegian town of Tromsø. The house has a beautiful garden, a large patio, and overlooks the Tromsø fjord and the nearby mountains. It is a modern home with all the necessary facilities including high speed internet and wifi. Bikes are available.

Tromsø is located at almost 70 degrees North and has two months of midnight sun (May 21 to July 21) and two months of polar night (November 21 to January 21). The town is the capital of the Norwegian North. It has a large university, a lively city centre, a major hospital, and several festivals that take place here during summer and winter.

The major advantage of Tromsø is the unique combination of urban cultural and night life with easy access to nature and Arctic wilderness. Arctic mountains invite for walking trips along well marked paths of various degrees of difficulty, or for climbing or skiing. Small islands can be explored by kayak or small boats or you can go on extended fishing trips (no permit required for fishing in the sea). Equipment can be easily hired in the city centre or be brought here by airplane or the coastal steamer 'Hurtigruten'.

Tromsø is easily accessible by plane (2 hours flight from Oslo). In case you have time, taking the coastal steamer up the Norwegian coast from Bergen or Trondheim would be an excellent alternative (make sure to book summer trips early as the steamer is extremely popular in this season).
