Bacause the Netherlands (and Belgium) are so small you'll find a lot within one hour's drive: major cities Antwerp and Rotterdam, many beaches, Delta Works, 3 big zoo's etc. Day trips to Gent, Bruges, Bruxelles (all in Belgium), Amsterdam, The Hague (all less than 2 hours drive).
