I wouldn't want to live anywhere else! Terni is strategicaly placed and is just the right size. Not too small to be boring and not too big to get chaotic. Everything is within walking distance and it is flat so great to get around by bike (ours are available). The swimming pool is within walking distance, and so is the station, park, shops, pizzerie and ice-cream places. There is good night life. So if you just want to take it easy, you'll find Terni very relaxing. However, in 10 minutes by car you can go horse riding, rafting, hiking, mountain biking, mountain climbing, and basically any outdoor activity. When you want to go into the big cities, it's very easy because Rome is a 50 minute train ride away and Florence just a bit more than that. Also all around Terni you can visit medieval towns, such as Spoleto, Orvieto, Todi, Assisi ecc. And thay all have beautiful art and churches.
Our house has a walking surface of 85 square meters plus a 30 square meter terrace with plants, canopy and barbecue. It was fully rennovated 3 years ago and is very clean and well organised. It has an open plan kitchen, is sunny and has a beautiful view of the mountains. There is a main bedroom and a second bedroom with toys and bunk beds. There is also a large study full of books and computers. It's on a 4th floor and is very quiet. The only down side is that we don't have an elevator, but I assure you that it's really no big deal. ..you're just going to go home with firmer buttocks!
