Ancient house in a little village in Piemonte: the land of wine. 1 h. from Genova, Milano and Torino.
In the historical centre, to enter you have to pass a little garden and the patio. Living room and kitchen open directly to the patio. Two bedrooms with doble bed. Ancient fornitures. Very very quiet. Castel view. Our Neighborhood The hills embroidered with splendid VINEYARDS, interrupted by fields and woods, lead tourists to go on long walks or MOUNTAINBIKES rides. There are two soccer fields, a skating rink, an Olympic swimming poll and a 29-hole green in the town, putting this gold course at the top in Europe, in the middle of tranquil surroundings. In summer you can spend pleasant, cool evenings with entertainment around the suggestive squares of the HISTORICAL CENTRES. The suggestive "walk under the stars" on the night of San Lorenzo is a must, August. What to see The 14th century castle dominates the hill that the township clings to. Particular mention must be made of the thirteen churches and a Romanesque old parish CURCH of considerable cultural and historical importance, called S. Innocenzo, which together with the churches of S. Lorenzo and Sant'Agata are Filiations of the Abbey of San Fruttuoso in Capodimonte. The territory is full of natural water resources that through the springs enable tourists to freshen up and quench their thirst. Walk around the CASTLE. What to taste There are many typical dishes in this town, including fondue, truffle-based salads and risottos. Bagna cauda (warm oil, garlic and anchovy based dipping sauce), cured meats, game, mixed boiled meats accompanied by tasty "bagnetti" sauces and the valley cheeses, all to be enjoyed with different vines produced from indigenous grapes: Dolcetto of Ovada, Barbera, Cortese of Alto Monferrato. And also drink the healty spring water!!! |

We had a good experience in Castelletto d'Orba. The apartment was clean and basic equipped.
We met the owners the first and the last day of our stay. They showed us the house and the facilities in the village.
The nearby are very interesting both by car and bike. Good for eating traditional dishes and tasting wines.
Maybe we will come again to spend a weekend!
