The cottage is on Kea, a beautiful and typical small Greek island. The property has three very small (1-2 rooms each) and very old stone-made houses (that we renovate mostly ourselves since we bought them-more than 25 years...-this is a life-project, the reason being that until now we were in Greece only for the summers. And summer in Greece is a big temptation to let one seriously work on ANY project...) My husband and I stay in the first cottage. The middle one is for our kids and their friends, and the third one is for guests.
Tzia has a unique architecture. Along with the white washed houses in the main village, like in all Cyclades islands, most country houses are left with the stones showing outside. During your stay it will be best if we are there too, since our situation on Kea is a little wild, some kind of 'alternative'. No 'city' electricity, no city water, but photovoltaic cells and our own water allows us to have comforts (with an eco mind though, for example, no two 'heating' devices at the same time. Careful use of water is also a must.)
Kea has a small museum with antiquities (found in the '60s). Also, visiting the ancient port (Karthaia) is a wonderful (long!) hike, or a nice day trip with our small inflatable.
However, you must rent or have your own car to commute.
