Our apartment is located centrally in Hamburg, Germany's second largest city, right by the Central Station. It's 105 square meters, so it's spacious enough for 4 guests. If children are along, 5 guests would work out too.
The apartment is from 1900. It's got wooden floors, high stuccoed ceilings and large windows on the sunny side. The kitchen is equipped with a gas stove and an electric oven, a fridge with a freezer, and a dish washer. The bathroom has a bath tub, a washing machine and, of course, a sink and a toilet. In our large bedroom we have a double bed. The guest bedroom has a single bed. In the library room we have a chaise longue, that can be used as a bed as well. The dining room / living room has a couch that can also be use to sleep on. The whole appartment is furnished with mainly antique and 1950s furniture. (The electrical appliances, however, are brand new.) Please note, we have no TV. Short info on Hamburg: Hamburg is a Northern German harbour city with a population of 1.8 million citizens. It's near the Baltic Sea and the North Sea, and has a beach of its own along the River Elbe. It has a lively art and cultural scene. And also a renowned nightlife and amusement quarter around the Reeperbahn and in the "Schanze". Otherwise, Hamburg is a very green city with many parks and canals, and an idyllic immediate hinterland with many dikes and medieval towns like Stade, Lübeck and the likes. Any more detailed information on Hamburg can be found best on sites as wikipedia or wikitravel etc. Everything near the city center is quickly reached from our apartment, since it is just 5 minutes from Central station. Rides with the bus or metro usually don't take any longer than 15 minutes if you're not heading for the outskirts. You can reach small historic towns and the two coastlines within 1 hour via train. If you want to do some city hopping: Berlin can be reached within 100 minutes via train. If you want to do some country hopping: the two other closest metropols are Copenhagen and Amsterdam, which are both five hours away by train. |
