Our home is an attractive garden level apartment with sea views, only 100 m from the beach, port and village of lovely Banyuls sur Mer in the south of France. Banyuls is a calm, picturesque town of approximately 4600 inhabitants. Our residence is fully secured and of high quality. We have one bedroom with double bed, an alcove 'office' area, fully equipped modern kitchen, separate toilet, bathroom with large Italian style walk-in shower and washing machine, spacious and comfortable dining-living area (with pull-out bed, flat screen TV, stereo and high-speed Wifi). Opening onto our small bit of garden and the communal terrace outside is our private, glass enclosed veranda (with sliding doors).
We enjoy easy access to famous coastal towns such as Port Vendres (5 kms), Collioure (8kms), Narbonne, Beziers, Montpellier and more. The Pyrennees Mountains lie just behind. We are also within easy driving (or train) distance to Spain: Port Bou (12 kms), Figueras and Cadacas (especially, but not only for Salvadore Dali fans), fabulous Girona and the great Barcelona. Our region offers The 1 euro Bus that for only 1 euro will take you into Perpignan and further. The train station in Banyuls sur Mer is within walking distance. The train service is excellent and inexpensive (for example approximately 24 euros round trip to Barcelona).
Banyuls sur Mer is on the Mediterranean coast 35 kms from Perpignan only 12 from Spain. It is known for its natural beauty and its famous wines. An artistic community, it is home to many artists and artisans. It also offers water sports (swimming, kayaking, scuba diving, fishing and boating and includes a spectacular underwater reserve), cycling, climbing, hiking as well as many diverse cultural events.
