Where to start! The Teahouse, as we call it, is located on the southeastern coast of Costa Rica in a small town called Cahuita. The property is 2 km north of Cahuita at the beginning of Playa Grande. The house is situated in the jungle 100 meters off the beach. The beach is ~ 5 km long and 50 - 100 meters wide. Depending in the season it could be all yours! The sand is a light grey fine powder.
The Teahouse was once a yoga studio and has a mesmerizing yoga deck, perfect for meditation, yoga (of course), and my favorite drinking Costa Rican coffee. The house sits amongst 1 hectare of manicured gardens. A staff of three part time employees maintains the gardens as well weekly house cleaning. For the most part you are asked to keep the house lived in and small amounts of management if required. The house pretty much runs its self. There are two outside. cats and someday will be a dog (not here yet).
Full disclosure there is no air conditioning. Second disclosure, you don't need it. I have yet to loose a nights sleep because of heat. Rain on a tin roof is another story but part of the adventure. The rooms are basic. Three rooms are setup but two more can be if you need them. The outside spaces are what this place is about. The beach and nature 👌. Don't bring an alarm clock. Nature provides one for free. You'll understand later (hint - howler monkeys)!
The first word most people say is WOW! We are close to National Parks. This is a Caribbean vibe with everything that comes with the culture. You won't be disappointed!
