Don't like tan lines, then do some sun bathing in your birthday suit in the private back yard, protected by thick 15 foot hedges and palm trees. Even though it's a gated community of 140 homes, only 20% are full time expats, thus it feels like you have the community to yourself. Chances are both the community pools will be empty when you take a refreshing dip.

Speaking of privacy, take a 5 minute walk to the nearest beach and you will have miles of sand, coconut trees and ocean to yourself. This beach is a non touristy beach thus you could walk for hours collecting seashells and watching exotic birds fly by and not see a single person. Literally a private beach. However, if you like the hustle and bustle, then a 20 min drive to the North takes you to the party town of Jaco where you will find tons of boutique restaurants, souvenir shops, night clubs, and surfer/beach bums galore. Or go 30 min South and immerse yourself in the Manuel Antonio nation park reserve jungle canopy. Have your camera ready to take a close up picture with a pack of friendly monkeys and the occasional sloth. While here you will have access to our 7 passenger Accura MDX suv, so can explore all of CR with no need to rent an expensive car.
