Stouffville is a small country town, close to the big city. Originally settled by Mennonites in the early 1800's it is being transformed from a farming community into a bedroom suburb of Toronto.
The last family we exchanged homes made a point of attending an Aboriginal
PowWow, visiting Niagara Falls and exploring Toronto. Toronto may be one of
the most multi-cultural cities in the world, about 48 per cent of its
residents were not born in Canada, so there is always one cultural festival
or another underway. It also has numerous museums, theatres and other
attractions.
Our home is nicely situated in a quiet small town, that is close to
Toronto, but a nice retreat after a day in the city. Its about a 45
minute drive to the heart of the city, but there is also a convenient
commuter train that takes an hour. In our region are numerous golf courses
and equestrian centres. We are within walking distance to the local pool
and library.
Less than two hours away is the Muskoka or Kawartha Cottage country, take your pick of canoeing, camping or hiking opportunities. A bit further is Algonquin Park. Four hours away you can be canoeing in Temagami's old growth forest.
Ottawa is four hours away, Montreal is the same.

About Home Exchange
Owners
: |
Sonja is an event planner working on numerous philanthropic
initiatives. Ron works in broadcasting as News Producer.
Our daughter loves reading, sports and travel. Our son loves soccer, skiing, reading and action movies.
Our family loves to travel and experience new foods and culture. Aside from two previous home exchanges our family spent a winter in Switzerland.
We have done two exchanges to date and both have been wonderful successful experiences. In both cases we had the opportunity to meet the families we exchanged homes with and that was a delight. In fact we remain in contact with our newest German friends and have seen them twice since, once here in Canada and once in Barcelona, Spain.
