From Coquitlam to Vancouver.  Car, Skytrain, or Bus?

Driving from Coquitlam to Vancouver takes about 30 minutes whether you use Highway No. 1, Lougheed Highway (No. 7), or Barnet Highway (No. 7A). 
You can take bus line  B97 to connect to Skytrain which will take you downtown. 
Alternatively you can take Westcoast Express in the morning which in 30 minutes will take you from Coquitlam to downtown Vancouver.  The express comes back to Coquitlam in the afternoon.

Driving from the USA? (Seattle/Portland/San Francisco…)

After crossing the US border at Blaine, WA / White Rock,BC – US highway I 5 will transition to Canadian BC 99. Go North, take exit 10 to Surrey via Port Mann Bridge to Coquitlam (32 km/20mi; 40 min. drive).

Coquitlam's Attractions -- This is NOT just a Bedroom Community!

If you want to relax in the outdoors, explore any of 80 parks in Coquitlam. Mundy Park the largest park in Coquitlam (176 hectares/435 acres) has many walking trails that pass the park's two lakes - Mundy Lake and Lost Lake. The park features outdoor swimming pool, playgrounds, picnic area. The Coquitlam's trail system encompasses about 90km of hiking trails. A number of picturesque lakes and connecting waterways make up for a paradise for canoeing or kayaking lovers. Explore Belcarra Regional Park with Sasamat Lake in Port Moody, one of the warmest lakes in Greater Vancouver, and Buntzen Lake in Anmore.

In the summer day’s you can relax at Sasamat Lake’s White Pine Beach.  Spend the time at the beach, swim in clean water, go fishing or circle Belcarra’s Sasamat Lake. The Sasamat Lake Loop (1.5 mi/2.5 km return) will take you around the lake from White Pine Beach going south to a floating boardwalk that crosses the lake back to the beach.

In addition to a nice beach, there are a few hiking trails around the Buntzen Lake. You can choose from 4 to 12 hours hiking time. Trails are used also by Mountain Bikers and Equestrians.

Wanna Play?

Boulevard Casino in Coquitlam - the largest casino in the province of British Columbia with Red Robinson Show Theatre. Some past performances included such names like Jay Leno, Bill Maher, Julio Iglesias and more.

Westwood Plateau Golf & Country Club

Westwood Plateau Golf & Country Club is an 18-hole, par 72, 6770 yard course. Won the Best New Course in Canada award for 1996. Season from April to October.
