Our home is part of an award winning development in a pretty Warwickshire village just three miles from the historic county town of Warwick and seven miles from Shakespeare's Stratford-upon-Avon.
The house is a three storey townhouse with two double bedrooms and a third bedroom/office containing a double sofa bed. Newly fitted dining kitchen. The living room has floor to ceiling windows looking across wooded communal gardens to Barford's 13th century parish church of St Peter. The house has a downstairs cloakroom with WC and washbasin. On the second floor is the family bathroom with walk-in drench shower, toilet and washbasin. Barford is a quiet but very friendly village community with a mixture of modern and ancient buildings including several thatched cottages. It has two pubs - one a village "local", the other an upmarket gastropub. There is also a community run shop which stocks food, newspapers and magazines and wines and spirits. Warwick's main attraction is its castle, said to be the finest medieval castle in the country. Stratford is home to Shakespeare's birthplace, Ann Hathaway's Cottage and the world famous Royal Shakespeare Theatre. Britain's vibrant second city, Birmingham is 30 minutes away by train and London is less than two hours by car or train. Barford is only 30 minutes drive from the Cotswolds, officially designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Peak District National Park is about 90 minutes by car. Car exchange is possible: We have a 2008 Honda Civic (seats 5) and a 2001 Peugeot 206 (seats 4). |
