Londons Docklands is an area that has had major redevelopment in the last decade or so. I love it the people are friendly you have great access to everything and the prices are better than the west end.
The apartment is right by the water, which is extremely relaxing but is in easy walking distance to many things, including shops, restaurants, pubs, cinema and theatre. Plus the public transport here is great. With 3 buses within a 2 minute walk, the DLR about 7 minutes away and Canary Wharf Station (Jubilee Line Underground) about a 12 minute walk or 5 minutes bus ride. Apart from this you have about a 5 minute walk to the Catamaran waterbus service that goes along the Thames. The apartment itself is not too tiny with a good size living room and a small kitchen attached. There is approx. 9m of glass looking out over the dock and Canary Wharf. Furnishings a modest and cosy, with big flatscreen TV, internet, Blueray player, stereo and all you could need to relax but stay in touch with the world. The bedroom has a kingsize bed and an extra double mattress to be used in the lounge if there is more than 2 of you. The bathroom is compact but functional, with a bath with a shower attachment. Being on the groundfloor the apartment is easily accessible and has a small patio where you can sit and relax and watch the world go by during the day, and the light show which is Canary Wharf by night. It is a 7 minute walk to Millwall Park and London City Farm (Mudchute). Plus for those who want to go a little further a 15 minute walk will take you to the foot tunnel going under the Thames and bringing you up in Greenwich, a beautiful place ful of parks, markets, restaurants and much more. |
